Description: Anniversary clock by Schatz. Schatz means darling or beloved in German. This clock was made in West Germany which dates it between 1952 and 1989. 11.5" tall. Base is 7 3/4" diameter. Uses one C battery. I know nothing about the history of this clock. I installed a new C cell and the clock ran for about four days. It slowly lost time over that period and finally stopped working, though battery was still 15. vdc.. This is all the information I have on it. I know nothing about Anniversary clocks (why are they called that?) but will be happy to address any questions you might have. The base is brass colored plastic. Is the interior spindle supposed to turn? I have read these have chimes too but see no evidence of it..
